My Dad Bod & Vegan Fish are now owned by @Makoman - I’ve gotten ride reports from him confirming how much I liked them and how fun Justin’s shapes are. On this particular one I had Justin cut it with more rocker than stock. I compared it to a FW Dominator but with more high end capability. And like a CI Flyer with better low end capability. You can see in my DA quiver pic how it fit perfectly between good wave boards and dedicated small wave/grovel boardsView attachment 129061View attachment 129063View attachment 129064View attachment 129065View attachment 129066View attachment 129067View attachment 129068

I've got one (the board and physique thanks COVID) and have been riding it a bunch. Was told it was a custom build with rocker to be more like a CI Flyer. I like it a lot, very versatile and catches waves easy but still high enough performance that I don't feel limitations once up and riding. Been riding as tri with AM2s and definitely recommend, it's been one of those boards I grab when not sure of conditions. I'm a big fan of Justin's shapes, have a few of his custom one-offs and he's very underrated in my opinion. Really like his Vegan Fish as well.

If anyone is about to pull the trigger on a DA, I received yesterday a 10% discount code as part of a new VIP Program they just started. Just hit me with a pm if you need it. Expires on Aug 31. For sure there must be other members of the forum that also received it.
It has to be said that we also get an stackable voucher anytime somebody use your code. Cool marketing.

So I demo’d a 5’7 Dad Bod from the guys at Dark Arts for a few days. It was 31.5 liters so a tad undersized for me, but I rode it for 2 sessions in mostly windswell beach break. It feels like a “cheater” thruster and was pretty lively when up and riding. Paddling and holding the board under arm you definitely notice how light it is. Feels like it would be more resistant to deck denting and dinging. All in all board was fun, no major surprises, and I could see a place for a 5’9 in the quiver as an everyday shortboard.
