Curvy swallow or straight?

I was told a long time ago curve in the last 6” of rail would allow tighter turn in the pocket.

although you may be talking about the interior rail line. For that, I gotta imagine very little difference. Maybe a small amount of added volume on wide tailed boards?

Funny, this came up in my Flare order.

Tim's response:

"probably not much of a difference, but i believe everything makes a difference.
straight cut -less surface area, cleaner release.
curved - curve on inside has more area and i believe more of a fluid ‘round’ tail transition.

in reality, most likely boils down to looks and what you brain perceived feel is…

The curvy fish tails look way cooler but probably more work for shapers. Lost used to do cool double wing fish tails on the old sd3s and the sharks
