Could John John possibly win at Trestles?

West of the Atlantic. East of the ICW.
Looking at the remaining events I could envision a scenario where John John dominates a good chunk of the remaining events. Lets say he wins Margs, Tahiti and Fiji and posts very good finishes in the other events finishing the regular season with a huge lead over the other competitors. If that were to happen, what would John John's odds be at head high Lower Trestles in the WSL Finals?

He won multiple amateur titles at Lowers. The last 2 CT comps he surfed at lowers he finished 2nd and 3rd.

The question you want to ask is can JJF beat Griffin in 2 out of 3 at Lowers. Depends on the surf. But in reality, based on current trends, Griffin is better than JJF so no, JJF will not win at Lowers.

But JJF will not win at Margs, Fiji and Chopes so your hypothetical is silly to begin with.

Griffin is a nice kid. He's not even close to JJF, Medina, EE, Jack Robinson, or Italo despite what the judges have concocted.

So are you saying yes, Jjf can win at lowers? Because it feels like you’re both suggesting the final is slanted against him and that he’s better than the guys ahead of him.

jjf could win, but no shoe in. with flipper gone the field is way more level..robbo, pinto, kermit, grabby, jordy igarashi and a few others look like they are on equal footing out there.. would be funny if grabby, slats and italy all got bounced at the cut

Could be that 2% of the men on tour, after perfecting the craft on each other, are now performing cunnilingus on the judges. Hence the skewed results. There’s really no alternative explanation that makes any sense.

Could? Absolutely.
The bigger it gets, the better his chances.

Ewing v JJF at pumping Lowers would be pretty dreamy.

That being said, John focusing and ripping for that many heats at head high lowers seems unlikely
