thx - might go with Japanese pull saw and hope it doesn't ruin the blade ... or maybe one of those cheap Home Depot hack saws the meth heads use when they break into your car to steal your radio and spare change
If you want a cheap blade for a one time use, harbor freight made in China crap has treated me well.

stnava : Anything with regular teeth cutting solid fiberglass will become one time use, as it is quite abrasive and rounds sawteeth quickly. I use one of these and it holds up great: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Bosch-3-1-4-in-T-shank-Diamond-Grit-Jigsaw-Blade/50222743

Harbor Freight used to have pack of similar carbide blades a while back that work good too, now I only see one of them in this 30 pack: https://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/power-saw-blades/jig-saw-blades/t-shank-general-purpose-jig-saw-blade-set-30-piece-64071.html

An angle grinder with a 36 grit sanding disk will work to rough out the foil, if it's the first one you have ever done, just do a bit with the grinder and then move to a hand sanding block with 80 grit or so and take your time. If you aren't fully covered in long sleeves and gloves, you can use some cornstarch on uncovered skin to prevent fiberglass itchiness. A facemask for all of this is a must.

@RTP - very helpful ... I have a Bosch Jig Saw so that's perfect. thank you all for the many clever ideas and ancillary but humorous comments
