We visited some relatives in one city or another there in early 80s. Had a Lincoln as a rental car. Rubes there were in such awe, it was like those deep villages in the Amazon where the tribes saw a white person for the first time. They ran out into the streets to come look.
I would go visit South Dakota again in a heartbeat before visiting Jersey. Then again, the East Coast doesn't hold much allure for me.
