I don't know anyone's specific narrative...but I do know defunding the police has been proven to be a terrible idea. More politicians need to suffer the consequences of these policies that terrorize the citizens in these cities that don't have the opportunity to live in the suburbs or safe neighborhoods they do. Minneapolis just a few years ago was a great city. Clean, perfectly walkable even at night. Same with Austin, which now has a police department that has been cut in half and crime that is out of control. Los Angeles....same.

When in the history of man have humans been peaceful in absence of consequence. Through evolution and time most posses the intellect and compassion to avoid becoming a predator.....but we are predators by nature and a percentage of the population is not going to have the tether to morality. Thats why the world needs police and jails. Prison overcrowding wasn't due to over criminalizing. You can find examples...sure...but the increasing numbers and expense of keeping a percentage of the population behind bars was due to the population growing. While general population growth exceeded prison population growth what happened was perfectly normal....the lefts view is anything but normal.

Minneapolis just a few years ago was a great city. Clean, perfectly walkable even at night. Same with Austin, which now has a police department that has been cut in half and crime that is out of control. Los Angeles....same.

Minneapolis was probably a nice place for an old white man like yourself, but the DOJ found:

- MPD uses excessive force, including unjustified deadly force and other types of force.
- MPD unlawfully discriminates against Black and Native American people in its enforcement activities.
- MPD violates the rights of people engaged in protected speech.
- MPD and the City discriminate against people with behavioral health disabilities when responding to calls for assistance.

Austin police was not defunded. they are having staffing issues as retirements are outstripping new hires. it seems the police are having a hard time recruiting....

Austin defunded the police. This is indisputable. Many of the cops went to work for other departments because working for Austin PD wasn't worth it anymore. Other retired early rather than work for a shiity understaffed department.

The Biden Admin DOJ civil rights division found. The same guys that say White Supremacy is the biggest threat to America today....yet no one can find any statistics to back this claim up except maybe some mean tweets from dubious sources. Meanwhile black predators are running wild in most major cities in America.
