I totally hear you, but that's just one job: teaching. Teaching may turn out to be a relatively safe profession, augmented by the technology but not supplanted. But many, many jobs will be supplanted. Many more will be created, no doubt, like in other periods of technological advance. But this time, the tool we have created has the potential to rival or exceed us in intelligence. That's the trippy part.

I just watched 2001 Space Odyssey again. Amazing how prescient he (Kubrick) was. I was stunned to learn that all his movies only won one Oscar (special effects for 2001) and zero Golden Globes.
