Sierra Club: 1; Developers: 0. 1,300 acres will be wild space, not 1,266 homes in East County
Now, the land is part of the Rancho Jamul Ecological Reserve

The Sierra Club has a few developments like that tied up in litigation in the Otay area. Home Fed is tied up on another in Santee, with objections started by mountain bikers.

But since the Newland project was voted down and the requirement that all general plan amendments must get voter approval, development of any scale in the County is basically dead.

The Sierra Club should refer all the incoming transplants to The Appalachian Club.

Tired of all the development without any infrastructure to support it. A significant percentage of Mella Roos on new developments should go to the preexisting residents who now have to deal with more traffic, overcrowded schools, further squeezed medical care, etc.
