Petak Island
We've had too many friends drop dead after a visit to the local Dr's....."morticians" better prolly to call them, based on their 'save rate'.
When I returned from my trip one of the German doctors I work with asked me where I had been the past weeks.

When I told her she said bitterly "Just be glad you never got sick there."

I asked her what she meant.

"My father was hospitalized on that island. They almost fvcking killed him!":shrug::toilet::roflmao:

Petak Island
Top....

Well bois, looks like the timeline is shortening quickly.

I'm heading out to the mainland in search of a decent nursing home for my mom.

Depending on availability she may be off sooner than we thought.

Which means I will probably be out of here by mid-2024 at the latest.

Sorry.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

There's still this winter season... which by the way is ..... :bowdown::applause2::bowdown: .... really making it hard on me to "want" to leave.

It's been a good 20 year run.

What are you doing with the estate?

Up for sale as soon as we get her into a home.

Anyone need a 150m2 3 bedroom 3 bathroom "estate" on a rapidly growing island with world class breaks 20 minutes from your door?

Can be practically offgrid, with only public water utility connection neccesary.

Very low cost in terms of annual maintenance.

Under 400€ a year for property tax and garbage fees.

Wanna pull the trigger?

The place is experiencing 16% gains in market value annually... to be honest, I hate to let it go as it more than pays for itself.

:shrug::toilet::foreheadslap:

Why am I doing this?

:loser::socrazy::crazy2:

pm for pricing info, serious inquiries only please, got no time for idiocy right now.... what am I doing here then, right?

:roflmao:
Why not rent it out ???

Rental Laws in Spain protect not only the renter, but also squatters.

Fook dat!

We already have 2 rentals, in Madrid, which provide plenty headaches.

It would be pretty incredible though, to keep this house in/on the erBB...

And I know there's a couple of erBBers who could not only afford it, but actually benefit from moving here for a while and surfing their knobs off.

:waving::shaka:
Mrs Pato lived there in 87' and had the time of her life. Met her best friend there and still has dreams of bbq's by the ocean. Maybe a visit is in order, especially now that she's retired. :shaka:

She told me to let you know...

"Tell those guys you chat with on the interwebs about surfing they have approximately 5 years to come visit before we have to leave here for the peninsula, cause the Mediterranean gets no waves!".

She's pulling the plug, and rightfully so. Mainly? The lack of health care and our aging arses not getting any younger. We've had too many friends drop dead after a visit to the local Dr's....."morticians" better prolly to call them, based on their 'save rate'.

So, all trolling aside... if you were bucket listing the island as a travel destination and want me here on-site as a guide, better sooner than later.

Even if/when we do depart... I will leave a boart behind, and come visit every swell season. And offer travel advice via here by dm, or WhatsApp.

Peas,

Undetermined number of erBB crew will be stopping by your island next fall, before we cross the pond.

SurfFuerteventura, didn’t you have a random erBBer visit you many years ago, or am I mixing that up with someone else?

Is that thread still on here somewhere?

I AM NOT MOVING TO MALAGA.

YEAH!!!

fook the Iberian peninsula, never been as happy there as living in the Canarias.

:dancing:
I didn’t like Malaga when I was there. Prob least favorite spot I stayed in Spain. The beaches weren’t great and it was mobbed with German tourists. Costa Brava on the hand…

Costa Brava is so dry it's against the law to fill your pool in many spots.

:shameonyou:

Irony is, Málaga is even drier.
