When I hit 40, arranged a physical with the assigned doctor.
When I showed up, she asks what I am there for.
"When you turn 40, you get a physical, right?"
"When you turn 50, come back. 50 is the new 40."
When I turned 50, they gave me a colonoscopy.
When I was a tot, I thought getting older would be great. I would eat whatever I wanted and stay up to 10 and not have to be bullied by my mean older sisters. Boy, that colonoscopy finally smashed that childhood dream once and for all.
But she did say it to me. Maybe she meant it in my case and not the general public.
Or maybe just for physicals?

Getting blood work done once year is prudent.
I never do.
Just don't take stoke tips from Doug after your colonoscopy.
The nurse even warned me but I was high and didn't listen.
