I'm from the uk and l've just got home from a trip to north san diego country. While l was there l purchased a BYB surfboard from the surf ride shop. A couple days later after l was getting changed after a surf, a guy l was talking to reckoned my board was made in the far east and not locally as l thought it was. Does anybody know where this board has been shaped? Was this guy talkin **** or was my board made in asia? cheers

If riding/purchasing an overseas made surfboard, is a problem for you, I'd suggest asking where the board in question was built before purchasing it. If the counter people don't know, choose another brand and/or shop.
If everyone making boards in the USA started to put "made in the USA" laminates on every board...it would sure help curb some of the sneakiness going on in the board industry these days! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

It happens with a lot of bike manufacturers, they source everything from overseas, assemble it here, and put an American flag on it to try and mislead consumers. I've even seen "Designed in the USA" stickers on bikes, with the text in tiny font so all you see, unless you get up super-close, is the flag.

Does anybody know an email address or website for byb?, l haven't had any luck in finding one. thanks

Nope it ain't signed, kinda puts a sour taste on an otherwise great holiday. I've decided to sell the board, as l don't won't some piece of c"ap made by somebody, whos out to rip folks off.

Just wanna add that the actual airbrush has been done over the top of the glass job and now l have cleaned off the wax, the design is now coming off. So as well as being sold a crap board, l will now have to get a clear coat over the artwork, before l can try to sell it. Thank the lord, mr byb l'm on the other side of the atlantic from you and shame on surfride for selling such crap.
