I’ve never had issues with XTR in choppy conditions. Agree it’s much better than EPS. Stringered XTR comparable to PU/PE to meHow do you feel like these epoxy handle choppy conditions ?

I would definitely rate them above EPS for chop but not quite as good as PU. They are just slightly more lively and faster to rebound than PU I think. Going with the 10.0 vs 10.c helps in chop just with the added weight. For me XTR is fine in most sizes and conditions and I definitely appreciate the little extra liveliness in small/weaker surf. How do you feel like these epoxy handle choppy conditions ?
Thanks. That was going to be my next question, which of their builds are you going with / would handle chop the best?I would definitely rate them above EPS for chop but not quite as good as PU. i like the 10.0 SL-C Disco I recently got and have yet to ride in anything clean. The little extra weight helps to keep it from getting bounced around on a bumpy surface and the flex of 5 feels good to me. The 8.0 Stringered Plasmid seems fine in the chop as well but design wise being a middy with low rocker it's more of a challenge to keep that nose out of trouble when the going gets really rough. Some people have complained about 8.0 stringered being too stiff. Maybe for a hpsb it would be noticeable but on the middy I haven't felt that it's an issue.Thanks. Isn’t XTR extruded (XPS) vs. expanded (EPS) polystyrene? I’ve really liked many EPS borts, but sway to XPS for the water repellancy, and to more of a tip of the cap to Varial, the heat stability.i like the 10.0 SL-C Disco I recently got and have yet to ride in anything clean. Overall XTR just isn't as chattery as EPS, for whatever reason. I think it's a denser foam.
I think that's right. Varial is extruded as well? I like the Varial ride but the denting, ugh.Isn’t XTR extruded (XPS) vs. expanded (EPS) polystyrene? I’ve really liked many EPS borts, but sway to XPS for the water repellancy, and to more of a tip of the cap to Varial, the heat stability.
PRAYING you are correct.was around the corner for work, so stopped in to ask Shey a couple q's about my imminent GMM2 order. He confirmed that the SL-C is going to be stiffer then SL... but not necessarily make it much stronger or help prevent breakage (other than the effect of not flexing as much obviously). He said the strength is in the glassing schedule. Duh. Makes sense. LOL
They also had a sick 5'9 twinsman in SL-C that didn't get colored so is on the stoke rack. Was tempted for a hot sec. Had to get out of there.
edit: Oh, and some hot goss for the Tomo-heads. He intimated that they may revisit their agreement with Dan in the future. He got the impression all those XTR orders didn't exactly translate into Oz customs direct from Dan like maybe DT had thought they would when he unilaterally ended it. Fingers crossed.
What size Plasmic?Does anyone have a recommendation on stringerless 10.0 vs stringered 10.C for a small wave board like a plasmic? I am 190lb. I did see they posted a stringerless 8.0 on their insta.

I think Ill do stock 5'5 OG plasmic. In one of your comments above you said Shey said the carbon is really for the flex, not so much the breakage. So hopefully snapping it would be a low concern. Would you go SLC just to stiffen it up a little then? I am cheap and I'm not sure ill pay +$100 for the SLC.What size Plasmic?
Most of the SL ones I’ve had were smaller Tomos / Hydrodynamicas <5’7 and in 7.0 / 8.0. I really like the feel of stringerless for a small /average wave boar, so I’d think the Plasmic would be a good one for it, I’d go SLC.
anything >5’9 or for better/bigger surf, I’d be a bit nervous about breakage and probably go stringered.
Yes, SLC is a great build- their best IMO. Do it. you’re worth it, bro!I think Ill do stock 5'5 OG plasmic. the details: 6’6 Maurice cole shiva. Don’t remember the dims but it’s nearly 3 inches thick, hard edge all the way up and super deep concave into VEE.@ULUSURFER recently got some XTR porn....but is jholding out i think!

the board is a replacement for the used one I bought off of here that a friend of mine destroyed being a kook at jobos. Had over 10 serious dings.
this is better than the board it replaced and is magic!!!
