the bouys attatched to lobster traps have got a wierd foam, smooth outside and very hard. i was just curious how popout boards made of that stuff would work. wouldnt need glass, just maybe a latex seal. maybe a pvc stringer. just wonderin how u all think theyd work. for this discussion, please put aside your hate for popouts.

Isn't BZ's newest 5'3"er made with that new foam? Blue, kinda hard for foam, kinda smooth, kinda maybe oily feeling?

Used to sell those foamy fin supports from Prolite, but they seem to not order any, any more.
I saw them also at the NSI brochure 15 years ago, but alas, not lately.
Sorry, I'm full of "used to's"

We get a lot of packing foam that is of the same material as the first generation of morey boogie boards. Some of you aren't old enough to remember that stuff, but it was before the slick bottoms came out. I use it for a lot of different things, sanding blocks, padding on stands, insulate my kids low rider so the body panels don't flex from the 6000 watts in the trunk, etc. It cuts really nice on a power saw, hand saw or razor knife. If you want some OT, I'll just write your address on a chunk and drop it in the mail...

000, give it a try...you never know.
