My wife just gave me the green light to buy a board. She basically said, "You have $600 bucks - go crazy." I had no idea that this was coming, so now I'm going to all the websites I used to drool over with the empowerment to actually pull the trigger on a purchase... or maybe not.
See, I want an amazing board. I want a piece of history. I want magic in the water this summer. I have been looking at a wide range of fun fishies and beautiful bonzers with resin tints and pinlines. But then I realized that those boards new are actually out of my budget (by a hundred or more).
What should I do? Wait for the perfect slightly used stick to come up in these classifieds? (For instance, that Bumble Bee was in my price range, but might be a little to big - I'm 5'8" tall and 145 lbs.) Buy a new lesser known board by a lesser known shaper?
What would you do? I currently have a 7' egg, a 6'6" hybrid, and a 6'2" Nugget. Oh yeah, and I live in the Pacific Northwest.
Thanks!
