I've been there before and unfortunately I don't know of any. I would pick up a copy of Lonely Planet's 'Guide To Tahiti' - see amazon.com for a used version. Tahiti is one of the most expensive destinations I've ever visited.

Went to Moorea, Huahine and Taha'a last June -- wonderful time, but no place for a budget traveller.

I agree with the other posting -- get a few travel books, including "Lonely Planet."

The islands are incredible, but very expensive. The cost of food alone is a ball-buster.

Wasn't able to surf on Moorea, but had a good few days on Huahine.

Do you know what to expect in the way of surf?

Gnarly sucking skin eating reef breaks that are a long paddle ofshore <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> But I hear there are some paddleable breaks

Reviews on Amazon for Lonely Planet Tahiti book are very poor. So I went with the Moon Handbooks one. Found a couple of camp sites so far which seem reasonable priced but security may be an issue.

Anyone else got any useful info?

Get the updated SURFER TRAVEL REPORT on Tahiti. I updated it myself on my travels there, including places where I stayed for over a month (Tahiti, Moorea and Huahine. The total cost of my trip was around $1300 for the whole time!
