If you are still trying to set up summer trips, some suggestions I have, some from word of mouth sources and some from travel agencies:

Euro is high so Southern France is expensive this summer!

Costa Rica tickets are cheaper than Cabo tickets, what a shock!

Puerto Vallarta always a good call with normal ranged tickets.

Puerto Escondido in the same mainland Mex range as far as $$ with the built up city adding more and more culture to the heavy beachbreak!

Hawaii is still in an average price range for some South Shore Love!! (Better than the winter prices)

Stay home, but pretend you are on a trip. tell your friends, "it is nice to meet you, I am a stranger from a far off land." Take pictures of stuff around your neighborhood. Paddle out at your local spot and pretend you've never been there. Ask, "what is this place like on a good swell at low tide?"
Buy postcards from you local 7-11 and send them to your family. "Having a good time, wish you were here"
