Playa Tambor is marketed as an upscale resort. It's located in a low lying area prone to flooding which means bugs. There is no surf at this resort or near it. Nearest surf is about 3 hours away if the road conditions are good, in Mal Pais or you must go to Hermosa area or take a boat everyday someplace else. The sand is black.

Hope this helps. There are much better places for the prices. This is not the beach you want to spend a vacation with your girlfriend at.

Congratulations, you have made a much better choice. Langosta is a more populated area, but there will be more to do, a better beach, and surfing spots nearby.
