Going to CR with the wife for Christmas. Intermediate surfer and she just wants to hang out. Recommendations for a break and where to stay? Please, anything would help. Thanks.

If you end up staying around tamarindo be sure to check out playa negra and playa grande, both are pretty good breaks. Playa grande is about 20 min north and playa negra is around 45min to 1 hr south, depending on the roads. And of course, the boat charter to witches through witches rock surf camp in tamarindo is awesome.

I think its a little too late for that considering the spots are all over the web and many books about surfing in costa rica.
