Invented by Wil Jobson in the early 1980's, the Twinzer Bat-Tail is a design which integrates the speed of an outboard fin system with the planing surface area of a fish. Though it does not have a swallowtail and technically does not qualify as a fish, the Twinzer Bat-Tail shares common goals of the modern fish platform: speed without compromising manueverability.

5'11" x 20.5" x 2.5"
Walker Foam core
Epoxy glasswork - 6oz+4oz deck/6oz bottom
NeoMorph fin set-up - Lokbox removable fin system
$700.00

The best of bothworlds--the strongest core coupled with the strongest glass---a very durable travel board >>>

The production cost of the board comes to about $595.00. That's $80.00 for the blank, $20.00 for fin boxes, $50.00 for fins, $245.00 for the epoxy glass job, plus Wil Jobson's $200.00 shaping fee. Margins for surfboards are very low, and these boards are pretty rare, so the $700.00 sticker is about right for a fully integrated hand-shape by a master of the craft.

This ain't no pop-out made in China! 100% American-made using Walker Foam.

Wow 80 for a blank, ouch. I wish i had the money for one of will's board. I've seen a couple around and they are really unique. no one makes a twinzer like him. Manny, do you accept slave labor in trade?

Wil Jobson is only going to be making stock boards for Mandala, so if you'd like a custom, you can send him a letter (yes, a real live letter) describing your thoughts about a new board. He'll call you back once he gets the letter. I think he wants to take orders like this in order to spend his time working on serious inquiries. Here's the address:

Wil Jobson

Thanks,
Manuel

hey manny, board looks like a beaut! just curious why you went with epoxy--it seems like poly jobs with resin tints are a mandala staple. does jobson prefer epoxy, or are you considering making the switch? just curious...

Since the design is Wil's, he opted for going with epoxy glass to try something a little different. We're in the process of building a few more stock boards with polyester glass and color lamination:

5'7" bat-tail fish - olive green opaque
5'9" bat-tail fish - brick red opaque
5'11" bat-tail fish - masking tape opaque

They should retail for about $750.00, with color lamination and gloss/polish, and fins...coming soon!

Hey Manny there's no room on my surfcase to ship this beauty with the others, so please stop!!!

I have one question: compared to one of your quads or compared to a fish, how are the dimensions on this kind of boards?

Thanks.
Coque.
