Knock Off FCSII Boxes

I'd be willing to bet a lot of shops don't even know they are getting boards in with the knock off boxes in them. The more you know. There is also no shortage of knock off Futures Boxes I see as well but because Futures doesn't use a mechanical locking mechanism the users would never know the difference beyond perhaps an occasional stripped set screw.

Just get a bigger grub screw and a drill tap to rethread. Sometimes you can just screw the bigger one right in. I usually have to do it on all my old boards.

When does the futures patent expire?

didnt fcs expire, thus fcs2 boxes?

I emailed Firewire to see if it was possible or if they had plans to offer customs so anyone could get boards with FCS2. They said they would not offer this option and that FCS is going to present a new FCS 3 system that will force us to change fins again.

Does anyone have any info on that?? Or is Firewire pushing us to move to Futures, and spreading FUD over FCS?
