i have a flat bottomed, round railed, 9x5 keeled fish allready. im making another with thinner rails, little more rocker, hard edges, and twin fin set-up.

wanna use it mostly in beachbreak, more repsonsive and quiker.

what bottoms do you guys suggest? just throw them out, whatever they may be.

can't..... help......myself.....

I could check my fish (which is a very retro-shape with 60/40 rails and no hard edges). From what I recall, it has a very shallow concave running through most of the board and exits just about flat between the fins and out the tail.

I could also check out the bottom on my friend's TB Zippi fish, which is the fastest board I have ever ridden.

deep triple concave, always faster, and holds in better on hard turns. no disadvantage

i know youve probubly seen these befor, but my first board i gave it double to vee concave, imitating a bonzer style, the sencond is flat, to compair. i think that concave works ten times better, doesnt slide out nearly as much, and the acceleration is much more dramatic.

Just my opinion, and disregard it if it don't work for you's. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
I find anyboard with concaves to give the perception of extreme acceleration, going really slow in the turns to pretty fast in the straights.
Boards flat or just accelerating V are always going faster in the turns, so the feeling of acceleration is muted somewhat...you're already going fast.

Oh, that's the reason competitive waterskis are concaves...to slow you down in the turns for control!

this was my first concave, but it turned out really well. its fairly deep, like 1/2" at its deepest and has a venturi shape on it, wide up front narrowing before flairing out the tail. used the planer to make sure all was correct depth. im hoping it makes the board feel really loose and skatey like my other board that has a single concave on it.
