Anyone surf it on an outgoing tide? What's the deal?
My birthday is July 12, and I'll be in CR and want to surf Escodido. High tide is at 6am. I'm flying in late the night before, so I want be able to ask around and get the lowdown. Anyone have any info?

no joke, i tried to paddle out early mid tide and 1st duck dive scraped all the skin off my bottom fingers and broke the nose off my board caught in the reef. you need water to surf this spot. if there is enough swell maybe....but I would gear for high tide.

That's similar to what I had figured for low tide, but low tide, WOW. Hopefully I can find a boat and get on it at 6 as that is high tide.
Do you, or anyone else, have tips to get a boat early in the morning?
