Otis...got up at 5 to walk the dog and realized that the wind had stopped, with an occasional gust of offshores. Checked it from Ponto to Seaside (maps on their way) and the water seemed to still have a bit of that brown tint/foam to it. The only thing that looked semi-fun was Swarmies, but not fun enough for me to risk the pollution and the 15 guys on it. Overhead sets, but pretty sectiony with mushy shoulders. Maybe at a lower tide?
I checked from Cardiff to Del Mar today. Just a big mess. I had a feeling after seeing the biggest "Victory At Sea" I've seen in a long time yesterday that it would still be sloppy. I'll stop by the AAA and pick you all up a map when they open this morning.
Surfed at a spot between Stone Steps and Grandview by myself. It was OH and clean, but just too much water moving and poor shape. After about 45 minutes, I caught a few good sized, but short, lefts then said "forget it", and paddled in.
Swamis did look pretty good, but I didn't want to deal with the crowd.
