Let me first say that despite my stance on a war, I don't see any reason for Bush to publicly debate Saddam Hussein. But I would pay good money to see it on Pay-per-View. It would be the most entertaining hour of television that could possibly be dreamt up. Reality TV at its finest. The bloody despotic tyrant vs. Howdy Doody.

The dirty ol' river
I picture it like one of those Saturday Night Live "Jeopardy" skits

"I'll take hidden Weopons of Mass Destruction for $400 alex"

"Can I get Infedels and Zionists for $1000?"

I think it would work something like the Ross Perot debates

It would be interesting to see. Saddam threw the idea of a debate out there because he knew it would not be accepted. He is a much more clever man than our current White House resident. To the Arab world, Saddam's request/challenge is a brave offer. The unwillingness of the U.S. to participate will be seen as more Crusader cowardice to Muslims worlwide.

The best response I heard was that neither of them speak English well enough for us to make any sense out of it.

Bush needs a debate like a fish needs a bicycle. The man is incapable of stringing together two intelligible sentences without his speech writers.

I thought he was just wingin' it when he speaks. Wow, we are in trouble.
