I am looking at making a trip to the Bocas. Probably December/January Timeframe. Surf should be decent based on what I have read and pretty cheap. Other than that never been and do not know anyone else who has.

Anyone have any tips/tricks, where to stay? where not to stay?

I was there last winter. I missed the big swell by a few days. It was supposed to be 15 ft. There is some really fun breaks around there though. When we were there Playa Paunch was working the best but Dumpers looked kind of fun too.

The only warning I can give you is to becareful of which taxis you ride in. Before you get in ask them the price to the breaks because some taxi drivers charge very little and some charge like 15 dollars.

Also hit up Barco Hundido. Its like the only club type bar on the Island. They have cool lights in the water where you can see the fish swimming around in the water.
