If you want to immigrate here (or anywhere) permanently, you should want to assimilate. That's why people historically fled other places to come here. They had a hard-on to be an American.

They put their old culture on the back burner and put American culture on the front. But, they could still whip out their old culture when useful.

That's how you have strength through diversity.

I know what assimilation is!

Switching to bland, generic food (preferably of the cheap buffet variety), taking up line dancing, wearing cargo pants, and making SURE you don’t slip up and say Happy Holidays by mistake. If they REALLY want to put the Fox News crowd at ease, they can unlearn everything they might have learned about English spelling and grammar without forgetting to buy lots of guns.
