terry and i use to be a patron many of wanne music fest in n.florida. what a grate time. their sound system at the music park back then was the best. live nation was bringing out top of the line systems for the allman brothers.

Idk why but I instantly fell in love with southern rock and the Allmans in particular. Something about their sound spoke to me immediately, slide has a lot to do with it but at the same time I don’t listen to the blues that often. I probably should more.

Like I said easily my favorite band. Listening to live from A&R Studios 1971, dank af especially considering what a young band they were

in the age of Batdorf & Rodney and Leo Kottke, Little Martha was my favorite but In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, Jessica and Whipping Post weren't far behind. The combo of Duane, Dickey, Greg and the dual drummers was next level. Definitely surf score music. The only ones that would catch my ear in the same way decades later was Stevie Ray and Eric Johnson.
