Mick lost another brother.

RIP Ed

1998 Sean Fanning (20) died in a car crash at Coolangatta.

2015 Peter Fanning (43) died from a health-related condition.

2024 Ed Fanning (40s) died working at surf camp in Madagascar.

Can't imagine what the parents have gone through, having to bury 3 of their 4 sons, and Mick and his Sister who have lost three brothers so young.

That always concerned me surfing foreign lands. Cut, infection, and no help nearby.

Don't know which camp he was working at but most seem to be in the southwest part of the coast, which does seem remote.

Madagascar has quite a few 'hospitals'. There is a surf camp is located at Befasy "a few hours boat ride from the southern port of Toliara."

Isn't there a tradition in Madagascar about digging up (exhuming?) the dead once a year (or whenever?) so that the family can commune with the formerly walking around?

Anyway, losing family sucks. RIP brother of Mick.

This is true. My mother is from Madagascar.
