thanks you all for the reminder that I need to post a little never forget refresher course on how the government conspired with social media to suppress the truth with respect to covid
that's an inaccurate characterization, but mayhaps that was intentional

Also, if you’re not realizing the Substack link thing is is a business move rather than a “free speech” move I’m sorry, I can’t help you
yes, of course. if it's good for business then obviously censorship is totally fine.

on an unrelated note did someone drop an anvil on your head this morning?

Oh, so you’re on the side of people who say private companies choosing what goes on their platform is censorship?

afoaf is gonna be mad

it was an accurate statement. i am using my words with absolute precision. like a surgeon weilding a scalpel.

:):shaka:
they did not "conspire"

by and large, Twitter wasn't compliant with the government's requests to curb disinformation

Berenson's lawsuit against Biden and Pfizer is still outstanding

it will be interesting to see how that shakes out

BS
The government always asks nicely, accepts refusals to comply gracefully, and never uses their power in retribution :shameonyou:
you've made that argument before multiple times

it's childish

the fact is that both trump and biden admins asked them to curb disinformation and Twitter complied only sporadically

there was no retribution

no one at twitter claimed that there were threats or implied retribution

there is no precedent that would make Twitter think that retribution was in the cards

Twitter in no way shape or form indicated they feared retribution in the emails released during discovery and/or during their testimony to congress

this is just more silly conspiracy theorizing to make up for a deficient initial claim

they did not conspire

Twitter, by and large, did not do what the government asked them to do

Berenson's court case proceeds against Biden and Pfizer....let's see what happens there

as it stands, the government asking large social platforms to assist in the dissemination of public health info and to curb counter-productive disinformation is neither surprising nor disappointing to me, given the facts of the case as they currently stand.

So pointing out something that our government has done time and time again is “childish”

would they disclose that sort of thing in the quarterly report if it happened

Berenson was doing a public service by telling people exactly what to expect if they were to get vaccinated, so that they can then make an educated and informed decision, or at least know what to expect while being strong armed into a medical intervention with their livelihood being used as leverage.

The government shot itself in the foot by trying to control the narrative and dragging out restrictions and mandates long past their expiration date. Then they have the nerve to complain that people won’t take the next more severe pandemic seriously after they cried wolf for 2 years. Fookin psychopaths

what did the government do "time and time again", exactly?

That you know of
so, you're concocting a conspiracy out of whole cloth AFTER the release of the twitter files and the congressional testimony

that's rational

would they disclose that sort of thing in the quarterly report if it happened
it was not indicated anywhere in the docs and the twitter execs testified under oath before congress

if they were being strongarmed, it would have been in their best interests to indicate that

at the time of their testimony, they were being sued over this very matter and would have had a vested interest in pointing out any attempts at coercion by the government.

it’s not a conspiracy if it’s happened before
you said:

The government always asks nicely, accepts refusals to comply gracefully, and never uses their power in retribution

you've also said they have done this "time and time again"

feel free to substantiate that. I'm keen to hear your examples since you claim they are myriad.

thanks for the editorial

we'll see where the courts land on this

as it stands, Twitter can kick people off the platform at their discretion

it matters naught.
