I remember being on an internal flight in China, looking out the plane window, and realizing we were going to take off well below IFR visibility minimums due to the smog. Then I realized the pilots were just doing the ground roll on take off and pushing the autopilot button for the rest. This was confirmed when that Asiana flight slammed into the sea wall at SFO on a VFR day with no crosswind.

The tour pilot did one hell of a job landing on one of these two remote beaches. Finding a small white target amongst the greenery of towering cliffs or the depths of the blue Pacific with no deaths involved is a big plus in his flying skills.
I got a ride on Kauai from an ex military pilot in the 80's. He asked me if I got airsick. I said no. For future reference, that is NOT the answer you need to give in that situation.
