Longest you have waited for a custom order?

I know some shapers take longer than others but curious to see how long others have waited

Have done a few local shapers here in FL and they were usually 8-12 weeks. Lost quoted 8-12 weeks then took like 18. Never again haha

Ive never waited so long that it stands out in memory. Usually picking boards up from shapers, maybe that helps

8 months. Shaper sort of blew up, got flooded with orders, and had trouble scaling. I wasn't in a rush, so didn't mind. Just left a low deposit on it, and forgot about it. Board ended up being magic, and he even reduced the cost for the delay so I can't really complain. Usually most my boards on average take about 2 months though.

My last custom wizard sleeve from CI took a long time. Can’t remember the exact turnaround but I gained 15 pounds waiting for it.

Not good.

I had a shaper take 3 weeks to reply to a custom order inquiry and did not want to tempt fate with an order.

8-12wks, always. I don’t care to order if they’re backlogged, I’ll just chase down OTR or go to someone else.

Christenson Chris Craft glider took 6 months, just like he said it would. Every Rusty, Channel Islands, and Pyzel promised 4-6 weeks and delivered in less than 4. There's a reason these guys are all successful.

1 year. I want to order some more boards from him but that left a sour taste in my mouth. Ordered four boards from this guy. First was 2 months. Second was 2 weeks. Third was 6 months. The last one, a year.

I got one in less that a week.

Was going to Tahiti and went to Gunter Rohn shaping bay/shop to see if there was a second hand tube shooter there.

He said I'll make you one- we discussed it, I think he shaped it that day. Picked it up within the week.

last 2 customs took 1.5 and 2 weeks respectively. full color resin tint. i’ll wait 3 wks max for a custom now

~4 months, Pat Rawson. Went by his house, talked dims, outlines, looked at a few shaped blanks and gave him the deposit. Got a text maybe ten days later that the blank was good to go! Cue more than three months of waiting for his dirtbag glasser to get around to my board.

Heard similar complaints from a handful of others.

Got boards from Arakawa and Daniel Jones within two weeks in the middle of winter. 100% recommend getting boards from both of those guys.

I waited six months during the height of covid. The shaper was waiting on the blank.

I went to pick up the board and it was incredible looking. Unfortunately, the board rode like complete dog sh!t and I sold it after a month for a $200 loss. Oh well.
