Seriously though I think I'm done paying $50-60 retail for trunks - I'm just going to buy gym shorts with a drawstring. If I kook, I kook.
way done - over done. fwiw, i have a hard time finding just the right gym shorts too.

anyway, Ebay for the win, for baggies under $20 have a couple pairs of these that have held up well :

Nordstrom Rack, Marshall’s and Ross carry brand named surf trunks under $30. The stitching may be a bit off, last season’s styles, or the logo not aligned properly but usually good to go. Just check the inner stitching around the ball sack area and make sure it’s not bulging upward which creates the schaffing rash on the boyz. Haven’t spent more than $30 on a pair of brand name boardshorts ever.

I would get my board shorts second hand for free from my buddies who get fat and can't fit into them any more. Problem is, now they're all fat.
