i’ve been to Punta San Jose several times, but it’s been at least 30 years since I was there last.

that’s about a 25 km drive west of the highway through private property. lots could go wrong back there and no one would ever know. Several decades ago I helped a group from Denmark with the paperwork to set up a retreat out there so I kinda know the area. Hope they get found.

I always trip on the thought of driving my truck through Mexico. It should be considered old as a 2013 but I feel like it still screams 'gringowithmoney'.

That 2016 Chevy Colorado they mention looks pretty nice, as does the Lexus Land Cruiser next to it!?

That sucks. Heard Punta San Jose is super sketchy now. I will stick to wine country down there. And use the Tecate crossing. Came back last Sunday morning. 35 minute wait.

Not on the way to Rosarito. Or anywhere else worth going.

"Retreat"

Place seems more like a compound.

How is Campo Rd. all the way back to Jamul / Spring Valley though!?
A bit curvy but scenic. Seems like it takes a long time but really doesn't. We use that during busy crossing times going south and it doesn't really add much time at all. If I didn't have Sentri and was coming back from the coast I would still use that border to come back.

PSJ was a favored south swell strike mission destination for me and one of my friends for years. Sometime after 2010 or so it seemed to get sketchy and our trips there became less frequent. Then there was a killing there around 2015 or so and we stopped going there and haven't been back since....
Sounds like this will not have a good ending.
