Your choice for a one board quiver?

I think my best one board quiver was a Zamora HP fish (extra wide). My Album ILL covers me pretty well too unless it's bordering unsurfable, then I would need a wrongboard.

For me, I can't see a round tail working super awesome in the small stuff, yet a lot the new grovel boards seem to have round tails. I can see the appeal because they would turn so easily, but I like corners to push off of.

Stretch Skate model. When I take quick trips and can take only 1 board that's the one. I've used it thigh high and up to 3 ft overhead. It's by far Stretch's most underrated model. Skates the middle one.

at this specific moment in time i would say if the world was so cruel you were only allowed 1 stick i would go with either my chemistry flashpoint, because that thing works fine up to slightly OH, low rocker with pro style rails, if it doesn't work on the lower range, I wouldn't be going out anyway and would stick to gardening since i am a self respecting grown man

or

my MTF, which isn't like a normal MTF its kinda thick n fishy, just because it can hold up to slightly OH as well, has a decent lower range, its blue which attracts chicks, and is suitable for when you are just lazy because it seems to surf itself . . .

Stretch Skate. I cant say enough about this board. Goes well in knee high mush, is amazing in normal waves, and as a quad, is great in really good waves. Paddles/gets into waves shockingly easy, and takes off with speeeeeeed.

i had a one board quiver when i first started surfing. i cant imagine going back to that.
i guess if it had to be one board and thats it, it would probably be a longboard or an egg..
There's just too many small and/or mushy days - I'd probably lean towards the egg. logs get boring after a while

Hmmm. A board that works from thigh high to triple overhead. Seems impossible.

i guess if i had to choose from my own quiver, i'd have to say my octafish. might miss out on the severe low & high ends, but the thing is solid waist on up to slightly OH so far. might be able to push it into bigger surf, but i haven't really been inclined to try.

If I had to keep it at just 1 board for all conditions...it'd be my 6'4 FCD Huevo with a 2+1 setup. Of course a log will work better in the nearly flat days & a round pin step up would work better when it's BIG, but my Huevo has been great in the small days, big days & everything in between. IMO, eggs/midlengths with a touch of rocker are easily the most versatile boards.

I've actually thought about this a lot while day dreaming or talking with bros, but in my scenario it's one board for ALL spots, not the local ones. So, you need length when it comes to small waves or tall waves, but you sacrifice the pocket shredding with more length. Then again, it's a one board quiver so I would choose to go with what could handle ANYTHING over what would be best for what I might expect to usually find.

If it's a hypothetical board, I agree, a midlength with some rocker is the call. I'd make it a 4+1 to have maximum fin flexibility to keep it interesting. Got one of those fin box fcs adapters too.

If it's a board I've actually ridden, it'd have to be the Barry V modern-fish-thruster I had when I was first learning (and it was called a "crutch" back then). Fishy shape with shortboard refinements that handled everything. Rode that thing to death because I kept coming back to it even after I bought "real" hpsbs and a couple others. Only board I've ever had to put in the trash can.

Definitely the yellow 5'0x18 1/2 mandala inspired thing I posted in the tomo thread some time back, absolutely the best small wave board I've ever had, surfs like a slippery rocket powered fish but still has control for the rad sh¡t, still hauls in pretty decent sized waves if you over fin it a touch too, went batsh¡t in solid double overhead fast point surf last week, would def give it a tiny bit more flip in the nose next time though if it was gonna be a single board for everything though.
