I mean I think it def matters how big you are.

I have a large wingspan so paddling a board that wide isn't difficult for me.

26.5 is just 1.5 inches more on each side from a 23.5 wide board.

It isn't like I am paddling a 33 wide SUP.

That being said, I have no idea how anyone could actually SUP it.

I was at a kids birthday at the beach a few years ago and there was this tiny grom SUP. I think it was 5'6 x 22 x 3. Shaped kinda like a Merrick Average Joe. Paddled it out and it was really fun. I think it was a Starboard.

21.5 is my limit.

1. don't want to get used to something wider than that.

2. start getting neck and back issues

What is the concern? You will become an average surfer if you start surfing wider boards?
