Why are traction pads $50?

I've bought the 15$ "punt" brand from amazon for two boards now. Same adhesive as the 50 buck ones and I like it just as much if not better -- it's got slightly chunkier bumps than the trying-to-be-fancy ones. Definitely recommend.

^ yeah the ones I got look exactly like that -- one had the holes in the middle piece the other doesn't, but it's all one material, and that surface pattern and overall shape. definitely the same factory if not different names for the same company.

Couldn't you buy this stuff and put it on with 3M Super 77?

Speaking of 3M Super 77, does it work to reattach a pad that is beginning to lift off?

Yes but make sure to clean good but if its only coming up in corners I use shoe goo

I would not reccommend contact cement for surfboards works best with fabrics materials like rubber, leather, vinly, etc. 3mm super 77 works but you do need to make sure area is clean and any residue has been removed.

a few guys got the Hammer pads a year or two ago because of price. Haven't heard a peep about em since. Curious how they held up. Cc: @racer1 @Aruka
they were fine, quality wise. i didn't mind how they felt underfoot either. texture was grippy and the arch/kick combo was good for me. they were just a little thicker than I prefer so I don't think I'd go there again.

i liked the one I bought. Gave the other one to a friend, he hasn’t used it yet. They were a little narrow for my tastes, also I’m OCD about the kick part having its own adhesive area so the transition part doesn’t come up. Like how gorilla grip makes the flat part and the kick separate.
