The female Japanese bodyboarder takeover of B5F-hood back in the mid/late-90s definitely exposed the slippage of localism. :roflmao:

But it is true, you don't see too many bodyboarders anymore. Don't think I've seen one here up north since I've moved.

not a slip. they were invited. there's a difference.

Hard to believe maybe its the pandemic but North Gaviota spot 4 boogie boarders out at left reef and 2nd day walking back to car saw middle age dick dragger changing out of suit

There have been a couple out at Scripps lately.

The production run of boards this year was very limited. Not that I need any more. :foreheadslap:

I saw a guy getting these sick little mini barrels on a boogie the other day.
Looked fun he had his own take off spot and waves no one else wanted.

There is a crew around here. I went for a surf last Monday at a South wind sheltered spot. Lots of groms on the first peak. one adult sponger at the outer peak.

As I left at dark, the tide was dropping and the inside was turning into a lovely 2-3 foot, hollow mini section.

Two 40+ spongers were getting the best ones and everyone else was flailing.
