Whatever helps you sleep better at night. You're comparing known, obviously effective, safety measures with snake oil. Sorry, your comparisons don't work.

Face it, if you enter the sea there is a slight.....very slight risk you could be some shark's random selection for that day's meal. If its your time.....its your time. I'd be far more worried about the much more real risk of drowning.
