If you look at the Department of Education's statistics, statistically your child is quite likely (10%) to experience sexual misconduct from someone working at a public school. Assaults and violence are way up and these are in the crime statistics. Then there's the question of what they're learning and who's teaching them. It's a very dark system.
Are you sure they're not protesting the library being closed after they carried their crayons so far?
sharkbiscuit, what are your thoughts on the SEC East now
That it's on a 5 game winning streak vs The Barn, three of those at the hands of the REM fans pictured?sharkbiscuit, what are your thoughts on the SEC East now

I know some people who are diehard liberal public school advocates who've pulled their kids out due to the latest unpleasantness.

my thin slice is to call BS.
What is the stat at the private schools?
I think you're in denial.This report 16 years old.
That is a pretty broad definition.
Things have changed alot.
I think you got some confirmation bias going on. And some narrow framing.
2018 Study on Sexual Harassment and Assault | Stop Street Harassment
February 21, 2018: In January 2018, SSH commissioned a 2,000-person, nationally representative survey on sexual harassment and assault, conducted by GfK. It found that nationwide, 81% of women and 43% of men reported experiencing some form of sexual harassment and/or assault in their lifetime...www.stopstreetharassment.org

Sexual Abuse by Teachers is on the Rise - The Children's Center for Psychiatry, Delray Beach, FL
Sexual abuse by teachers is on the rise, but why are we suddenly seeing an increase in sexual misconduct and a spike in teacher/student relationships?childrenstreatmentcenter.com
I had a gay teacher come on to me.According to those definitions I am a victim of multiple instances of sexual harassment, unwanted touching, and flashing. By women. When I was young and good looking. As I recall, several of those instances even resulted in me getting laid!
Now I am just an old fart and women of all ages avoid me.
Oh...oh. My bad. We, uhh SEC fans aren't known for getting tribal or reactionary about this here. Or anything like that. Uhhh.......I implying this might bode well for your crew since UGA appears to be collapsing under the weight of summer, but well played
This is a terrible evasion of the facts. It's interesting how certain classes of people in our society are considered above reproach.I was just going by the fact you sent me 16 year old research.
My point is that sexual abuse as defined by your link is a society wide issue.
Where as you are framing it as a public school issue.
Going by that definition I am a victim of sexual abuse.
And I am a tall white male.
The thing that everyone hates but secretly wants to be.
Abuse is a feature of life.
Not a bug.
Create your narrow frames to believe what you want.
But know that is what you are doing.
I disagree. This is a terrible evasion of the facts. It's interesting how certain classes of people in our society are considered above reproach.
I'm onboard with everything up until the "yanks are beating"* portion of the eventOh...oh. My bad. We, uhh SEC fans aren't known for getting tribal or reactionary about this here. Or anything like that. Uhhh.......
But Florida wanted 0 problems this offseason. UGA was already slated to go to Tuscaloosa, first road game of the year, with a new QB, and Florida gets LSU at home and has to go to Oxford to play the...Ole Missus? I am not sure what their mascot situation is, but that was an easy draw.
FSU is down and the other three non-con games were against Northwest Vending Machine Repair A&M.
Anyway, odds were about 50-50 Florida wins the East even losing to UGA, on account of the easier SEC West draw. Now we get Texas A&M and Arkansas. Arkansas is trash, but Texas A&M is not. We almost wound up with Alabama instead of Arkansas which would have been the end of it, unless UGA drew LSU and Texas A&M both.
I just hope I get to see some games, and I'm happy I got some waves and no damage from Isaias, and the Yanks are beating Tampa Bay as we speak.
