Now, it's surfline. I guess surfline is buying up the free forecasting sites and turning them into pay sites.
of course. if you can't beat your competition, buy them out. They did the same thing with a webcam site that had all 805 spots streaming for free. The guy that started it made a pretty penny.

When I started this thread I wasn't even thinking of the cams and forecasting side of things. I was talking about the way the side was at the time basically an on-line surf magazine. It was the best surf media out there.
yeah they had a nice articles and you could click on the "next" button on them for the next page. It was a picture, some text or video and it was really good.

Arena group is apparently trying to revive Surfer if you look at the site. They have my buddy Jake Howard writing again among. few others. But there are so many crap AI pieces amongst the more interesting stuff. Not sure if it's a profitable model. Maybe he'll convince 'em to re-launch it in print.

Wait there's more interesting stuff than the ChatGPT rehashes of KookOfTheDay's latest?

Surfline has been less than accurate around here lately, just the little things sometimes makes a difference between total junk and really fun, other times those same details make no difference so being spot on locally is a tough and thankless task anyway but when what you said would be poo-poo in the wake of a lot of waves, some were pretty good too so it's easy to call poo-poo but when it turns out really good, obviously way, way better than what you had called for you really shouldn't play down what's been happening all morning when you do your midday update.
Pride is the price a grown-up needn't pay. It masks nothing. All your waves are mine.
Keep up the good work.
Sorry for the run-ons, misuse of plurals (not plurality), and toggling tense as if I was driving around checking spots.
