What are you liking about social distancing/quarantine?

It really sounds like a lot of you out there have a solid argument for doing remote work permanently.

I love to waste all of the money I have saved to sit around and pay expensive bills.

It gives me a boner.

I like spending time with my family, not putting miles on my truck, cheap gas when I do need it, and a relatively loose schedule

I don't have to go into work and smell my co worker who has 30+ cats living in her house.

Indoor cats.

She smells like used cat litter. They all poop and pee in their cat boxes, dig around, and then walk all over all of her clothes, everything. I thought it was just her for a long time and that it was some kind of older age, feminine issue.

Then one day a couple of weeks ago her husband came into work to drop something off to her. Holy crap! He smelled just like she does....

I have the two of them marked for early Covid death. Just for sanitary reasons.

Had a tenant once. They used their entire bedroom as a litter box. Had to pour some copper solution sealant on the subfloor in order to seal the smell in for resale. They squatted next door for awhile; cops had to tell us not to even look at each other. Fun Times with cat people. Ex has a cat!

I have got to say both of my nephews in their late teens/early 20's have stepped up.

My dad had his 92nd birthday yesterday. It was pretty muted. He understands what is going on. We, as a family are doing everything we can to protect him. Right now, that means the kids stay away.

My 19 yo son made a new friend today with a backyard neighbor. Has little girls that play tetherball and bounce on the tramp all day. Love it! New friend gave him some banana kush and some wedding cake over the fence. Humanity is alive and kicking

Bad times... We think we have evolved so far. And then just a microscopic speck brings us down.

Cabin Fever...

- Getting more creative since this thing has broken the old model. Not saying I've come up with solutions but this is forcing me to reexamine A LOT of old assumptions and patterns
Me too, but can you explain?

We're finally trying homeschooling. Our kids have been in public schools until now. We were going to put them in Christian school but they kept raising tuition and our state and federal government have a progressive income tax which prevents you from putting another dollar in your pocket for every dollar earned to pay for it. Every fiber in my being wants to get expenses down as much as possible.

being an introvert and anti-social by nature in a way I like the emptiness and quiet of a dead or dying social structure
I hate crowds of any type, lines and traffic.
If I drive up to an occasion and can't find a parking space, I just go home
Never drive past Aloha Tower unless required, don't go to crowded restaurants, crowded bars or shopping centers to hang out for fun.
I guess it comes from growing up on a beach with just your close friends and family and you don't have much else other than an open lineup at your favorite break to play in. Spoiled by nature
I would have loved to been "quarantined" at home for 2 months
probably get allot of personal stuff done I've put off for a decade
right now I enjoy every minute I have at home just vegging/zoning on the tube/net or sleeping trying to stay healthy while dreading having to go back in to work come Monday
Where as before I'd rather be at work than any place else getting paid to sit in A/C all day battling the system making a difference.

a lot of this....being socially awkward anyway, social distancing fits me like a glove. last September, i opted for an early retirement package from my company that kicked in March 31st and guarantees me a paycheck through the end of the year, so I'm living in a weird convergence of global and personal events that is quite comfortable at the moment. have spent the last few months studying swing trading and that is starting to pay off as well. the only downside is that the beaches are closed but the ocean is still cold enough that it's not bothering me to miss swell.

right now, next year is just some other time.

It's a combo of remembering the stories my parents and their aunts/uncles told about living through the depression and WWII and the things they did to live as well as they could then. They were way more self reliant and creative in the ways they earned a buck. Also the ways I saw people living overseas in rough conditions and how they could survive and thrive.

Then layering that onto:

what society is currently categorizing as essential businesses - mostly physical locations
what businesses are currently still earning money even if they aren't essential - mostly digital endeavors

plenty of room for improvement on my end
