any ideas why that might be?

ever see “china wants your job”
stenciled on a wall in the old chris
christenson website?
Yeah and yeah. Bought everything from US dealers. Unfortunately, even US bike companies have outsourced their builds. My original trek steel frame was made here, but now they're made in China.

Are you lecturing me about Chinese goods?

I ride a trek, I like it. But I won’t buy another...

trek bought klein, then the assholes killed the brand.

you probably consider it an act of patriotism
to buy communist built sh:t.

i hope all the teeth on your freehub fall off when/if you’re riding far from home!

and flats, lots of flats...:poke:

I thought most frames were made in the Giant factory in Taiwan.

Anyone have any good sites to find components? As of now, the best deal I've found is $650 for an entire xt groupset on eBay, shipping from CA. Cheaper from China, but don't want to wait for shipping. Gonna order the Ritchey ultra frame within the week. Have pieced every other component together. Getting more stoked than a new board.
Other than Ebay and CList, I just bought some components from Universal Cycles in Oregon. They had a 15% off code for spending over $300 and free shipping. They also have some sale/closeout stuff as well. Picked up a brand new GRX groupset sans cranks off Ebay for $600. Some pedals I bought on Ebay shipped from Taiwan and arrived quicker than small parts ordered off Amazon.

:roflmao:

My spec'd is made overseas. Pretty sure the Ritchey I'm going to build is, too. I laud you for your efforts to support the US bike industry. I inquired about a frame from a Colorado builder, but I'm sold on the Ritchey... And Shimano.

I read an interesting article about him getting his company back from spec'd. Link

Been following this kid on YouTube for a while now. In addition to his mad skills on a bike was immediately impressed by how smart he is. Was wondering when he was gonna start winning races.

Hardtail porn:

Came yesterday. Got the cranks, rear derailleur, brakes, dropper post, saddle on. Couldn't put the fork and bars or rest of the drivetrain on b/c I had wrong parts sent to me. Was hoping to get it dirty this weekend, but I'm going to have to wait until later this week for the correct parts to come. Equivalent of flat spell when you get a new board.

Edit: frame weighs 5 lbs. Not the lightest, but hopefully will feel a little forgiving after switching from a FS trail bike. Also have 2.6" tires, which I'll run <15 psi. I'm light and I like the spongy feeling of underinflated tires.
