What does the surge of testing have to do with flattening the curve? How is testing more people going to flatten the curve?

I like H3

During off hours I can get from P'uuloa to Hawaiian Memorial Park to visit and take care of the family plots and back home in an hour maybe hour and a half.
Just don't like the military grunts and east side crazies as they drive like maniacs.
Between them and the slow poke old people or FOBs it can be like a video game.

Between now and November, allot of people here are gonna die once we hit two digit deaths a day.
Like New York, lots of sad and emotionally damaged and angry people left behind
no can say goodbye, no can have an island style funeral.

Long haulers gonna tax many services down the line as well
new businesses are gonna have to be created to meet their needs
as well as all the cremation related services coming.

It will result in a high number of "new cases" and justify further closures.
No, it means people will find out they have it even if they aren't showing symptoms (and possibly spreading to others) so they can then self quarantine.

You think people with no symptoms are going to go test?
Here they tell you not to.
They still say, only get tested if you are showing symptoms.
Then they take the number of positive tests, and extrapolate that over the entire population to come up with how many days we have left until our hospitals are over run.
Aaaaany day now.

If you want accurate numbers, you'd randomly test people from different areas and backgrounds, as many as you could.
But blah blah Italy, blah blah China, some percentage in Sweden is actually higher than ours statistically blah blah....
Lost the goal, lost the path, lost in the woods.

Kauai's north shore ~
So have they started turning you guys into zombies in the covid tunnel yet?
"Tunnel", is sooo, 1990's. "Tube", would be more appropriate in 2020.
State Health Director has decided to retire, Sept. 1st.

WE, on the Garden Island of Kauai have skated rather smoothly so far but ......
Kauai
  • 57 total cases
  • 55 released from isolation
  • 1 required hospitalization
  • 0 deaths

oahu has never suffered from a major disaster like Iniki on Kauai and the volcano on the big island
Residents especially the post iniki ones here are spoiled as they haven't really suffered so they don't know what it is to work together as a community to achieve a goal anymore.Too many "new" , "transient/military"and "self centered" residents just trying to get away with their "hustle" as long as they can before they leave. Look at how they all paniced like the urban rats they've become when the false korean missle threat happened.

Everyone complaining is just being lazy

People can easily fix the situation but the media egged on loud mouths standing on the sidelines would rather be lazy.
To think you inherently have the freedom to do what ever you want when ever and were ever is an uneducated fool's dream.

In the past, if a group didn't get along with the majority of the populace on an island they packed up their canoe and went to find another island to live on.

This is the head MAGA republican party cheer leader in Hawaii just happens to be a neighbor
