The stoke train arrived today, delivering the goods!! :jam_on:
Woot!!
Saw the buoy had jumped more than I expected so I took this thing this morning.
Couldn't see the waves at all with the fog and dark but paddled out for its maiden voyage
alone. As I got out to where I expected the lineup to be, about 10 waves rolled through
well outside of where I was. :drowning:
Got outside and it was super disorganized and well overhead on the sets with lots of
water moving, rips, etc. Moved around the lineup a bit in the dark and the board
paddles exceptionally well, which was what I'd hoped for these days. Finally turned on
a pretty size able wave (well over my head) and stroked in with just a couple paddles
like a freaking Caddilac! So smooth on the drop and I laid it over off the
bottom and projected super far past the crumbing section trying to eat me and
right up into a hard, smooth hook off the top, one more bottom/top turn and
over the back before the whole thing detonated across the beach.
Yew!!! On the way back out I ended up right in the right spot for 3 more wedging
corners, each ridiculously easy to get into on this thing and smooth despite the
jacked up sea surface and random chaotic lineup. It felt amazing and is going to do
exactly what I got it for in the conditions I got it for. Hell yeah! Thanks, Mattison,
once again! Great board!

what r dims?

stoked for you!

6'4" x 20 3/4" x 2 3/4" with tapered down rails. Packing some volume under my
chest but still very responsive in turns.
Second session today in just about maxed out local waves. Different spot than
yesterday. Most waves would wall up and close out but there were a few that would
wedge a bit more and run a ways before detonating and they were shifting all over.
This is a big part of what I got this particular board in these dims for. I'm able to get
around the lineup from point A to point B well, even with rips and lots of water
moving, and gets into overhead waves so much more easily than a low-volumed
board but once I'm to my feet it's still really responsive and easy to re-direct mid face
or off the top. Got a handful of good sized waves that were mostly just a big
bottom turn and one carving top turn before having to kick out, but one well-overhead
nug swung to me, let me into the sweet spot and looked like it was going to wall up
and shut me. Drove mid face on the drop and projected sooooo far
down the line that I was able to easily make the section, redirect off the bottom and
again...woooooosh...projecting like crazy and up into a steeper driving top-turn before
gliding over the back of the closeout inside. Stoooooked!
2 days in nearly maxed out local waves and this thing is exactly what I hoped it would be. :wave2:

Stoked for you......and for me as well.

I have a 6'4 x 20 1/2 x 2 9/16 on order as a step up.

Sweet!

Have you been riding that board as a single fin, O-Slide?
Only two sessions so far on this one, both as a quad w/ Von Knights...feels money.
My other TM goes good as a 2+1 too though so don't see why this will be any different.
I'll eventually try every setup, but so far, quad is great.

3 for 3! Notch smaller but still some good sized waves, cleaner conditions but
mostly shutting down everyone jostling over "the spot", hard offshore winds. I scooted
down the beach a bit and got a bunch of quality hh-oh rights, a couple of which ran
aaaaall the way down the beach. Gets in early, can do high-line speed runs or
crank off the bottom equally well, and fast enough to make sections that look unlikely.
Yew!

Don't actually have a Shadow at the moment, surprisingly...prob need to rectify
that! For me, this is a better option for a step up instead of stretching out a Shadow.
A Shadow in fish dims and step-up TM like this would be a seamless transition and cover
a huge range of conditions, imo.
