Which one of you fools used to own this one? It's a 5'8. I just picked it up off CL in Encinitas. Guy I bought it from said he was the second owner. Small inside sandbars have left me wanting one of these speed demons again. Plus, going to WACO for 3 days in May (driving through). Might be a good option from everything that I've heard.
It will go perfect with the medium wave but the expert will probably feel out of control, it's small but very punchy. I really enjoyed the PJHP I rented in the expert wave.

I'm going to start experimenting with fin setups for this very reason. I'm going to try it with twin/trailer, and also as a thruster, just to see what it will do. See if I can get it to slow down and stay a bit more in the pocket. Also with a bigger than nubster middle fin, when running the standard Mattison quad. I have 3 advanced sessions, and 3 intermediate sessions booked.

That board looks incredible. How much longer did you go compared to the snub nosed version, if you had one?

Previous versions were snub nosed 5'8"'s. Chatting with Sean we decided on 5"10" and slightly pulled in.

5'8" Snub Nosed Square Tail
5'8" Snub Nosed Diamond Tail

"I've been trying different center fins in mine. Something to give it a bit more hold and drive. I'm up to using a Twin fin trailer instead of the nubster. (think MR twin trailer). Feels a lot better to me. Think I might even try a GX center fin soon."

I was running McCallum Quad's with no nubster and it worked well. Picking up a new template from Sean. Bigger fronts with single tab trailers. Will post picks once I get them.

I enjoy the stilleto center fin for drive and drag I think. Not in the stubb but I like it a lot in a couple boards. I bought it off one of you guys here, so a big thank you to that person.
I plan to experiment further with that too.

Didn’t realize this thread existed when I made a previous one. Just grabbed this in the wired tech. Pretty stoked, a lot wider then what I normally surf but pretty foiled rails I think will be good. Does everyone prefer the mattison 5 fin?
