FORBES: "San Francisco And NYC Begin To See The Ugly Side Of Socialism"

San Francisco and NYC retail and restaurant sectors are
beginning to see the ugly side of socialism: store closures
and layoffs, as their owners cannot keep up with local
government mandates that raise the costs of their
businesses

While I agree with the sentiment of the article, this is not socialism. This is a problem with the over-regulated environment of do-gooder politics

I agree with these scheduling laws. If you are expecting an employee to show up for work at a certain day and time, then you should give them a day of work, or at least a half day to cover whatever commuting and child care costs they incurred. Employees are blocking off that time that could be spent at another job.

The article could make a stronger case by focusing on other "socialist" policies such as the cost of workers comp.

IMO there are other drivers that make a much bigger impact that are largely market based. The cost of real estate and online competition (mainly Amazon) come to mind.

Right or left, commie or capitalist, latin America always seems to end up with kleptocratic dictators.

The latter was Hugo’s platform, the former is the result.
You seem to have neglected he was rather successful. Just like you neglected Morales positive accomplishments.
Do I see a pattern

If Hugo was successful how did his hand picked successor follow the same policies and drive the bus over a cliff to the extent that people are eating their house pets?’They’re both shitheads. There’s your pattern.

Maybe making it work was a little harder than they thought. Do any of the Latin charismatic leaders have successful gov after they die? Starting with Simone B.

Brilliant.

What made Hugo charismatic? His riveting radio broadcasts?
