Varying Board Types for Costa RIca

Hey, i'm planning a trip to Costa rica in a little bit. i'm roughly 200lb, 5'10, but been a swimmer all my life, so i can paddle FAST. I currently ride a 6'10 squash and a 6'8 epoxy squash. i was considering picking up a new 6'6 for the trip - epoxy to float me better.

what tail systems are recommended? i've tried a few pins and swallows, but i'm looking for some generic info about each tail type.....

Hey dude, I am 5'11", 190lbs. and went to Costa about 4 months ago and I am soooo happy that I took the board that I did. It never got to be very big surf, like good 6' at most nearly all the waves I surfed were somewhat mushy, good but mushy. So a CI Flyer (6'6")with the extra wide squash tail was ideal for a little less power in the waves. At P. Negra my board got a little squirrly but no where else.
