Vaccine Passports. Constitutional or Not?

I would absolutely be more inclined to fly on an airline that requred all passengers to be vaccinated. IMO those that do require it should advertise it and make it their competitive advantage.
Ask and ye shall receive...

It’s a rule Australian-based airline Qantas Airways announced it will implement with all passengers traveling internationally. The airline’s CEO, Alan Joyce, said the airline will require all international travelers to prove they’ve received their COVID-19 vaccines before boarding their planes.
“We think that is a necessity,” Joyce said in an interview.
Qantas is not alone. The International Air Transportation Association, a trade association that represents the world’s airlines, is developing a phone app travelers could use to prove they’ve received their COVID-19 vaccines."
Probably won't affect the erBB flat earthers. They'd never risk flying towards the edges.

Some airline will probably develop a marketing plan just to capture the anti vaxer dollars.

"Jesus is our copilot! Come fly with COVID Air! First Class has free ventilators!"

funny how all the anti-good for you medicine people have no problem scarfing down industrially processed food, mickyDs, and processed sugar in all its abundant forms.
Processed white sugar, the worse possible drug ever created by man.

The tech they allowed to be used to create the M-RNA vaccines using crispr will spark a whole revolution in the medicines to come.

It's "agile development" implemented in medical research.

Microsoft's " let's put the software in the wild and let our users do our QA for us" strategy now adopted throughout tech.

Yep, we're definitely letting the user do QA with the mRNA vaccines. You get the QA you pay for.

What's the point of the vaccine passport? NY is launching one so that people can show they are vaccinated before going to events / sports / etc .... buuuuut everyone rides the subway where it is not required.

Yeah, the potential is incredible.
It's "agile development" implemented in medical research.
As a software architect who has watched agility evolve from a set of valid principles into something very much like a religion, let me just say that I find the notion of agile biotech more than a trifle unsettling.

On the radio, some dumb guy was saying it was creating a caste system:

Yeah, stupid people who won't get a vaccine and reasonable members of society who won't pose a health hazard.

LOL. There *might* be some that don't fit into this binary categorization.

Pretty dumb comment, even for you. People who are at risk can get a vaccine and be protected but will still spread the virus. It doesn't prevent infection, it only prevents people from dying from it or having complications. If you're worried about COVID or at-risk, get the vaccine.

Also, which vaccine are you talking about? There are several. The two mRNA ones are created with an experimental technology. They only overcame the technology's technical challenges this year. The challenge has a specific term I forget, but the gist was that mRNA vaccines trained theimmune system to create so large a response to the virus it was supposed to save you from that it killed you. I posted something about this on the Official Coronavirus thread. Here's where the technology stood as of 2017:
But mRNA is a tricky technology. Several major pharmaceutical companies have tried and abandoned the idea, struggling to get mRNA into cells without triggering nasty side effects.

Bancel has repeatedly promised that Moderna’s new therapies will change the world, but the company has refused to publish any data on its mRNA vehicles, sparking skepticism from some scientists and a chiding from the editors of Nature.
The mRNA ones are created using a faster process, to be sure, but Moderna and Pfizer were also in neck-and-neck competition to be what's called "first to market" in the tech world. This usually means testing is cut short for customers who don't care such as the innovators and early adopters, as explained by Moore in his classic, "Crossing the Chasm":

The mRNA drugs may have crossed the chasm judging by the fact that 25% of the US has been fully-vaccinated with predominantly mRNA vaccines. However, much is unknown about their long-term effects and this will present a huge barrier to adoption by the late majority and laggards. The right hand side of the curve will, if anything, opt for the traditional vaccines or none at all. This is just the technology adoption lifecycle and there's no changing it.

Academics are clueless:

We already have medical apartheid. This is how black people view our medical system:
Hank Aaron and Marvin Hagler died shortly after receiving the vaccines. Black people were skeptical before, but even more now. In both cases, the press ran identical denials:

The proposed "solution" on this thread is for white yuppies in SuperZips and Boomers.
