Study finds 50% of the population will believe anything written if it’s preceded by the words, “study finds”.

From the article….

”Researchers also found that the percentage of California residents who planned to leave had been “static” in the past two years.”

Planned to leave…

Ok, let’s look at the numbers of how many actually left…

and this…

If you actually read the article, the research was more than about "planning" to leave.

The number of people and capital that actually left is no different than it ever was, on the contrary..

"It also doesn’t seem like moneyed Californians are decamping en masse, nor are big investors. “There is no evidence of ‘millionaire flight’ from California,” researchers said, pointing out that “California’s economy attracts as much venture capital as all other states combined”.

The analysis showed that California’s portion of venture capital money was 48%, down a bit but in keeping with typical year-to-year changes, but the state continued to eclipse its oft-discussed competitors."

It's unfortunate that Plastic Slobodan can't or refuses to read or just plain lies......constantly.

Productive 25-39 year olds are leaving the state. 60+ retirees are leaving the state. You can celebrate making up that difference with homeless and migrants but at some point you have to believe the hard the data and your eyes to see the trouble this state is in. Tech billionaires and their companies with huge valuations benefit very few of the populace. It's a weird way to weight otherwise poor data.

LOL the data is presented above. I don't think "your eyes" is the way to gage "the trouble the state is in".

When are you leaving this horrible communist place?

Some people here, and I'm not naming names, do not communicate in good faith. They make sh!t up. They don't give a sh!t what they write. They're disinformationist gaslighters by nature.

IMHO there is definitely a type of California exodus. Corporate entity middle class jobs that can be done from anywhere are leaving the state. Boom. You can go spend an hour in traffic in Austin or Nashville or DFW and have a lower cost of living. You can have a pickup truck and lawn. It might be a million degrees or brown/chilly except for a week in April and a week in October, but you can buy more sh!t at Wallyworld.

But Berkeley, Stanford, and perfect weather don't seem to be going anywhere.

There was an article about some ambitious relocation program by West Virginia. The natives are kvetching that it doesn't help them, but like the guy in the focus group said, it takes half a dozen guys to do what used to be done by a shitload more, and that's not tied to political or partisan ideology. The same old coal jobs just aren't coming back.

Not sure to what extent people will last there. West Virginia can be a very, very gloomy place. Lots of Lakes moisture gets pushed down to those mountains and clouds up. Relative to Central/Southern California's abundant sunshine, it can be a depressing place just to be human and have a normal daily cycle and want to see sun.

Still a beautiful landscape with some good mountain/river/hiking recreation opportunities though.

There was not so much of a loss of population but a drastic stagnation in growth; which is evidenced by the loss of a congressional seat. There has definitely been an interstate migration away from some areas (SF Bay area for example) but not a loss. There has been a number of high profile and high net worth individuals and companies leaving but it's is not the mass exodus claimed by the "media" and elsewhere.
