Wil did a very small series of Twinzers called the "Hyperfenuvion". These were shorter, wider twinzer shapes designed to be used with elliptical fins. The Hyperfenuvion series twinzers were the only ones that had the fins set back. I think Ghosty, and Charles got to sample these designs. Maybe this is what you measured up and keep mentioning?
Who has those boards now??
Retodd had a hyperfenuvion:

He sold it bc it was too fat and thick, I think.

Grendel has my 5'7, which was a soft, crappy wave terror, but not a hyperfenuvion. Charles loved my board so much, he had a copy made but a little bigger: 5'9, I think. Dudebro might still have it.

Just use the whole box - waste of time to cut in 1/2 and option to try a forward position
Agreed, why make your fin attachment weaker on purpose?'

This is not a hyperfenuvion, no. It is only a tribute:

5'3" x wide and thicc, more thickness than rocker in fact

On my 6'2" Jobson shortboard, I measured the mains at 8 5/8" from the tail and a 1 1/2" gap between the mains and the canard. The main fin trailing edge was also 1 5/8" in from the hard edge of the rail, that is something that isn't mentioned as much.

One of these fins is doing its own thing

Two for the price of one. And because using the whole box will interfere with a FCSII box and you'll have to cut one anyway. And you are overbuilding. With g-10 fins you can reduce the fin tab size and still have adjustability. I will guarantee with my word that g-10 tab will not break.

I actually have a twinzer made with one original FCS plug that never had issues, so maybe even the Fusion box is overkill.

I’m not understanding how a full fusion box interferes more than a 1/2- could you post a pic of what you’re describing. Respectfully disagree on all other points.

There is somewhere on here a guy who uses two FCSII boxes, but to fit them he cuts one where the other "overlaps." I'm not going to search the thread or the forum trying to find it. I imagine the fitment of two fusions would be similar? Of course that depends on fin placement. If you have negative overlap and a wide slot maybe you're OK. PS Found pics and two fusions do not interfere (Griffins).

The two for the price of one is an incontestable fact. And it take ten minutes or so to scribe and cut the box. You do have to make a router jig but it's a circle so not hard to do and once it's done there you have it. Finally, if you can break that single G-10 tab that is 1/8" smaller than a regular fiberglass or plastic tab, your turns have WAY more power than mine. Good on you!

PS the FCS tabbed canard I had, I realiz it sits in a wood stringer so that may have a lot to do with why I never had issues. Oh, and I've never broken the tabs on my wood fins (3 layer of 4 oz each side with 1/8" carbon rod). And I think a G-10 tab is much stronger.

Thanks for posting the pic, but still don’t understand why 1/2 a fusion box will work for you but a full one won’t… but IRDGAF at this point. when someone uses the word “indisputable” I’m out.

A full one will work but is not necessary.

When I say indisputable I’m simply saying that buying one box ( and cutting it in half) costs half as much as buying two boxes. Pretty simple.

I made a plug to fit in my Fusion jig, blanking off one side. For me it's esthetics, I like the look of a single plug. I make canards with the tab/tang in different position to adjust the canard

Those fins look to be about 10 inches from the tail of the board. Is that about right? How does it feel riding it as a Twin vs riding it as a Twinzer?

What a beauty. What are the dims on this? Would you mind specifying fins and canards positions?

just got photos from a very well known twinzer master that my boards are almost ready, i'm sure it's been discussed but as someone mentioned earlier i don't have the energy to read 54 pages of erBB looking for fin recommendations.

two things: can you ride keels with them, i have a pair of the Jim Banks performance keels.... any fin recommendations for both the mains and the side bytes?
